dc.description.abstract |
This dissertation aims to present a global outlook on the current economic and geopolitical situation of Vietnam. Vietnam represents a unique example of a developing southeast Asian country in the process of switching from a planned economy to a market economy. This dissertation is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter is an analysis the current state of Vietnamese economy (focus on the EVFTA). The second chapter will regard the environment and environmental conflicts, traditional fisheries, and the Ha Tinh disaster. The third chapter will regard the problem of transnational water management and the problem of climate refugees (focus on the Mekong delta region). |
