The Key Aspects of Belarus-Italy Contemporary Relations

The object of the research are the Belarus-Italy contemporary relations, with particular focus on humanitarian, social and cultural cooperation, but examining also economic and trade, education and science relations, as well as the dialogue on the political level between the two states. The purpose of the research is to consider the formation and development of the main directions of present-day Belarus-Italy collaboration in the key spheres from the moment of gaining independence by Belarus and establishing the diplomatic relations with Italy till nowadays. The diploma work consists of four chapters, each dedicated to a specific vector of contemporary Belarus-Italy relations: political, economic, humanitarian and culture, science and education. The first chapter examines the formation and legal basis of Belarusian-Italian relations, collaboration between the governments of two countries on the highest levels. The second chapter of the work considers the overall tendencies, challenges and future prospects of Italy-Belarus economic relations with regard to the possibilities of the business environment in Belarus. The third chapter analyzes the main directions of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian field, with particular attention to public organizations as an instrument of humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Italy. The forth chapter is devoted to the multifarious interstate dialogue in the field of culture, science and education. The results of the work and their novelty: the project is one of the first research attempts to analyze the key dimensions of the relations between Belarus and Italy in the Belarusian historiography as well as in the Italian one.
